ALREADY DONE…

Verb + ཚར། or Verb + ཚར་ + སོང་། / འདུག / ཤག / ཡིན་པས།
Not yet : Verb + ཚར་མ་སོང་།
  • After an action verb, ཚར་བ། mostly means “already”, and “not yet” when negated. It is not necessarily about finishing the whole action.
  • It is mostly conjugated in the past tense. With a བྱེད་འབྲེལ་ལས་ཚིག you can use the བདག auxiliaries (about yourself, or in a question to “you”) or the གཞན auxiliaries such as སོང་།.
  • When the sentence is really about completing something (for example with ཚང་མ།), ཚར་བ། keeps the meaning “to finish” and is not “already”.
